Sir Tom Jones to sing at the Old Navy College, Greenwich!
In a major ‘coup’ for the organisers of the ‘Greenwich Music Time’ event, on the 26th of July this year, Sir Tom will be belting out his greatest hits for a rapturous audience at their second concert series event.
The Greenwich Music Time concert first took place last year, with a very well attended series of outdoor concerts, and it’s success has led to major stars approaching the organisers asking to perform at the 2015 event.
The main event organiser, Peter Taylor, said he was “very excited and overwhelmed” at the addition of Sir Tom Jones to an all star line-up.
He said: “Sir Tom is celebrating fifty years of singing– that’s an awesome achievement! The show is a tribute to his longevity and he’ll be performing all of his favourite hits.
“What an atmosphere it will be! Usually he’s singing to fifty thousand fans but here there’s five thousand at our concert, so it’s a very intimate event.
“And there’ll be fans of all ages because he’s got a song for everyone, young or old!”
The concert will be opened by ‘The Gypsy Kings’ on Thursday, July 23, with Ray Davies and the Kinks, plus the legendary George Benson on Friday the 24th.
It looks like being a fabulous concert in an unbelievably impressive setting, with all the history and pageantry of the Royal Navy surrounding these super-stars of the music industry live on stage for the lucky concert goers!
An un-missable show, sale of tickets for Tom Jones start at 9am on Friday (March 13).
